MAKOMnj is offering tickets to anyone wishing to attend High Holy Day Services. All services are multigenerational and adults and kids are welcome. Evening services will last about an hour and fifteen minutes and the morning services will be about an hour and forty-five minutes.
In a mindful balance of joy and introspection, we will gather together to welcome the New Year and reflect on the year that has ended. Using a combination of traditional High Holy Day melodies and classic Jewish favorites will enable everyone to sense the awe and power of the Holy Days while having opportunities to sing along and participate.
Services will be held in the beautiful Morris Museum. For security purposes everyone will need to register in advance. Please visit our website, MAKOMnj.org, to register and for the schedule of services.
Rabbi Ellie Miller, founder of MAKOMnj, describes the High Holy Day experience in this way, “I love the excitement of starting the new year while seriously reflecting on the year that has come to an end. I love for adults and children to sit together and joyfully sing ancient and contemporary melodies. You can feel the power and warmth of community. It is so uplifting that you walk out feeling renewed and refreshed. I really look forward to welcome everyone who wants to join with me.”
MAKOMnj is a new approach to Jewish community. We are independent, religiously liberal and welcoming to all. MAKOMnj offers warm, accessible and meaningful Jewish experiences that help everyone feel connected and find meaning in their own way. We meet in homes, event spaces and other interesting venues in and around Morris and Essex Counties. Visit our website, MAKOMnj.org, for more information.
