MORRISTOWN, NJ – A number of Morristown High School wrestlers competed in the Region 3 quarterfinals at West Orange on Friday night.

At 132 pounds, fifth-seeded Giovanni Rivera lost a 13-6 decision to fourth-seeded Cahil Love Jr. of Columbia. Love Jr. advanced to the semifinals to wrestle top-seeded Joey
Olivieri of Hanover Park.

In the 160-pound weight class, third-seeded Ryan Jackson fell to sixth-seeded Hakim Fennell of Belleville by fall in 36 seconds. Fennell advanced to wrestle second-seeded Thomas Stigliano of Whippany Park in the semifinals.

At 170, Morristown’s Aidan Watson, the fourth seed, lost an 11-8 decision to fifth-seeded Stratos Kantanas of Livingston in the quarterfinals. Kantanas advanced to wrestle top-
seeded Kieran Calvetti of Delbarton in the semifinals Saturday morning.

The Morristown wrestlers will be involved in the wrestlebacks on Saturday.

As expected, Delbarton has been dominant with representation in every weight class with the exception of 285 in Saturday’s semifinals.
