BOONTON, NJ- Bridgewater-Raritan used a 4-goal second half to come back and defeat the Colonials by a 4-2 score in the semifinals. With the win, they will face off against Eastern in the final. The loss ends the Colonials successful season.
For Morristown, familiar faces contributed goals as Olivia Graham and Indira Summerville scored in this one. Graham added an assist as well, giving her a team-high 33 points this season. This marks her 2 nd straight season leading the Colonials in points. The senior played her last game in a Colonial uniform and finished with 86 goals and 56 assists in her 4 years on the team.
For Bridgewater-Raritan, Madison Bray led the charge scoring 2 critical goals. Sam Della Rovere and Jenna Vadinsky scored the other 2 goals. Kayla Hnasko finished with 3 saves in the victory.
With the loss, Morristown’s season finishes at 12-6-2. One of those 12 victories included a sectional championship with a win over Montclair last week. The Colonials also finished runners-up in the Morris County tournament as they showed that they were a force to be reckoned with all season and will look to build on this year’s successes next year. Part of their success will depend on freshman Brittany Hoftijizer, who finished 2018 with 12 goals and 9 assists.
