MORRISTOWN – The Morristown High School girls tennis team tied for third place with 14 points at the Morris County Tournament over the weekend at the County College
of Morris in Randolph.

Morristown’s Maddie Siegel won the title at second singles over West Morris’ Gabrielle Nowak, 6-0, 6-0. Morristown’s Grace Starcher made the final at first singles, but she lost to Kinnelon’s Claire Zhang, 6-0, 6-0.

Chatham won its seventh straight county championship, totaling 18 points, two more than Morristown-Beard. Mendham and Morristown tied for third with 14 points apiece. Randolph (13) and Montville (10) rounded out the top five.

At third singles, Chatham’s Cameron Sims defeated Randolph’s Ella Sharkey, 7-6 (0), 6- 1. At first doubles, the Mo-Beard duo of Hannah Blake and Sophie Schramm defeated Chatham’s Sydeny Berkson and Sarah Fidora, 6-4, 7-5, while Montville took the title at second doubles.
