MORRISTOWN – The Morristown High School field hockey team was given the seventh seed in the upcoming Morris County Tournament.

The Colonials will play 10th-seeded Montville in the first round of the tournament. West Morris Central was given the top seed. Rounding out the top 10 were Morristown- Beard at third, Boonton at fourth, Chatham at fifth, Mendham at sixth, Morristown at seventh, Pequannock at eighth, Mount Olive at ninth and Montville at 10th.

The preliminary round starts this weekend. The semifinals will be on Oct. 12 at Boonton High School, with the games at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The championship game is on Oct. 15 at Boonton High School at 7 p.m.

Morristown is 3-6 on the season. The Colonials fell to West Morris Central, 6-3, on Wednesday. Morristown had a 3-1 advantage in the second half.
