MORRISTOWN – The Morristown High School girls tennis team is moving on.

The fourth-seeded Colonials cruised past 13th-seeded Union City, 5-0, in the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 tournament on Oct. 4. Morristown will next play fifth-seeded Montclair in the sectional quarterfinals.

At first singles, Morristown’s Grace Starcher defeated Fabiana Rodriguez, 6-0, 6-0. The Colonials’ Eliana Milich defeated Melody Rojas, 6-0, 6-2, at second singles. At third
singles, Kirsten Brutans defeated Raechel De Vera, 6-1, 6-1.

The Morristown doubles teams dropped just one game between them. At first doubles, Alex Fisher/Madison Silver defeated Jessenia Salto/Diane Zaragoza, 6-0, 6-1, while the
second doubles pair of Anne Merritt/Maddie Beavis took down Sharon Colonia/Bridget Torres, 6-0, 6-0.
