MORRISTOWN – The Morristown High School girls soccer team is the ninth seed in the upcoming Morris County Tournament.
Following Thursday night’s seeding meeting, the Colonials were given the No. 9 seed and will meet No. 24 seed Morris Catholic in the opening round.
Randolph received the top seed in the tournament. Two-time defending champion Morris Knolls, despite a 2-4 record, is the No. 5 seed. Chatham is the No. 2 seed, West Morris Central received the No. 3 seed, Hanover Park is the No. 4 seed and Parsippany Hills is the No. 6 seed. Those teams receive a bye in the opening round of the tournament.
Randolph locked up the top spot by defeating Chatham, 2-0, on Thursday.
The opening round must be played by Sunday, Sept. 22. The final will be played on Saturday, Oct. 19.
Undefeated Whippany Park is the No. 7 seed. Mendham, Morristown and Jefferson round out the top 10.
