MORRISTOWN, NJ -- Morristown High School junior wrestler Giovanni Rivera took fourth at the recent National United Wrestling Association for Youth Summer Nationals.
NUWAY holds tournaments throughout the offseason and year which allows student-athletes to compete.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the competition was held under a tent in the parking lot of Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City. Rivera took fourth and went 5-2 on the day.

“NJSIAA regulations state that I cannot coach a wrestler during the offseason,” said Morristown wrestling coach Casey Flynn. “However, I followed his competition throughout the day, and I am extremely impressed at how well he did. Offseason work is vital to becoming better prepared for the season. Gio wants to raise his competition level, and he is making positive strides in bettering himself. I am proud that he represented his teammates and himself very well at the NUWAY Summer Nationals.”
