MORRISTOWN – The Morristown High School girls volleyball team opened the season with a two-set loss to Morris Hills, 25-19, 27-25, on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
The Colonials are under second-year head coach Rita Costigan, who has six starters returning this season. Morristown looks to see growth and improvement over the course of the season. The Colonials are searching for their first winning season since 2014, when they finished with
a 17-13 record.
Jackie Newton, Emily Jackson and Emily VanHouton each had five kills, while Druhi Bhargava finished with 15 assists and two aces.
Morristown returns to action with a road match against Roxbury on Sept. 9 before returning home for a contest with Sparta on Sept. 12.
