MORRISTOWN – The sixth-seeded Morristown High School boys soccer team lost to third-seeded Kearny, 3-2, in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section
1, Group 4 tournament after Kearny’s Matt Escobar put in the golden goal.
Escobar finished with two goals while Gabriel Martinez netted one. For Morristown, Jordan Viotto scored both goals, and goalie Jonathan Nicholson made nine saves.
Kearny finished with a 12-10 advantage in shots on goal. Kearny advanced to meet second-seeded Clifton in the sectional semifinals.
Morristown ends its season with a 15-6-1 record.
