New Jersey boutique extends mission across country to end violence and help others; celebration at flagship store honors greater Morristown community, service members, first responders, and caregivers on June 17

MORRISTOWN,  NJ - Lucysgift.org goes live with e-commerce site and community celebration on June 17. The website is the latest accomplishment of Marisa Spagnoletti, Founder of the Maurice J. Spagnoletti Foundation (MSJF) and Owner of Lucy’s Gift (LG) boutiques. Local customers are invited to attend a launch party, “My Morristown” on Saturday, June 17, from 12 – 4 p.m. at the Morristown store (located at 168 South Street), to enjoy refreshments, family entertainment, and shopping for charity.

At 1 p.m., Marisa will be joined by Morristown’s Mayor Timothy Dougherty and Morris County Sheriff James Gannon for brief remarks. Service members, first responders, and caregivers will be honored with a special MJSF commemorative pin.

In just under two years Lucy’s Gift has been fortunate to open two boutiques and is now poised to extend their mission from its birthplace in Morristown to customers and communities nationwide. LG will now be able to respond to the requests of all Americans to shop and join their mission— to donate 100% net profits to the Maurice J. Spagnoletti Foundation and empower charitable organizations in their efforts to end violence and help others in need.

Showcasing high-end and fashion-forward handbags, varied costume and bridge jewelry collections, and unique accessories and gift items for the home, Lucy’s Gift is dedicated to making affordable luxury a reality for charity. Featured designers include many of the most coveted brands as well as exciting new talents such as Sondra Roberts, ILI, Melie Bianco, and Vered Milner of B-JWLD. The new e-commerce website will also feature upcoming events and blog posts from Marisa Spagnoletti, staff, and the growing LG community.

Marisa’s husband, Maurice J. Spagnoletti, was a prominent banker and humanitarian. After Maurice’s tragic killing in June 2011, Marisa was determined that his legacy will live on with the Maurice J. Spagnoletti Foundation. Lucy’s Gift boutique was subsequently founded to help support the efforts of the MJSF.

Ms. Spagnoletti said, “Our ‘My Morristown’ event will show the world that my husband did not die in vain! His legacy of good lives on in me, Lucy, and all of us. The love we shared is so much greater than the evil that killed him.”

On the timing of the e-commerce launch event, Ms. Spagnoletti continued, “June is a very TOUGH month for me. Lucy and I are finally finding peace—not living without my husband, but in memory of him. Our charity work and faith, especially in justice, sustains us. It is amazing to open two stores and launch a website in 18 months. It is a testament to how wonderful the American people are! I am excited about the future again and happy to even think of the future. That was one of the saddest parts of losing him, especially to violence. He was taken from us and nothing brings him back or eases our sorrow and despair. But, after 6 years I have come to see that, in addition to raising our child, my life has tremendous purpose in helping others to navigate their way out of horrific hardship, loss, and tragedy. Lucysgift.org is my way of spreading our charity efforts all over the U.S.”

Corporate Partnership Program

In support of our mission, Lucy’s Gift finds creative ways to support local charities, nonprofits, and promote local businesses. Corporate Partnership Outreach Manager, Yvette Tosado, says, “After all, without strong, viable local businesses providing employment, goods and services, how can we hope to improve our wonderful nation? The tremendous response from our customers, community, and vendors has inspired us.” Tosado continues, “We invite your company to partner with us in helping end violence, as well as meet the needs of your business to connect with our local community to achieve your corporate goals. We’d like to kick it off by inviting your employees to a special evening where you can learn more about us.” For more information, visit www.lucysgift.org/partner-with-lucys-gift.
