Basic Sewing Repairs Debuts at Westfield Memorial Library

WESTFIELD, NJ - On Wednesday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m., the Westfield Memorial Library will present “Make your own Repairs with Simple Sewing Techniques.” The Library is located at 550 East Broad Street.

The workshop will be presented by instructor Karen Camden who will describe a variety of hand-sewing techniques designed to complete basic repairs. Attendees will learn short cuts, tips and the sewing magic needed to avoid costly tailor shop visits. Ms. Camden suggests that they bring an article of clothing that needs a simple repair.

Ms. Camden is a frequent speaker at the library who gives computer classes and workshops on organizing, repurposing, kitchen gardens and sewing. She is the President of Camden Associates, a consulting firm that provides services in Communications and People Skills, Organizational Assessments and Clutter Control. She will return to the library on Saturday, May 21 at 1:30 p.m. to teach, “The Return of the Kitchen Garden.”

The programs are free and open to Westfield Memorial Library and MURAL cardholders. (MURAL cardholders belong to libraries that are part of the Middlesex Union Reciprocal Agreement Libraries.
