SUMMIT, NJ - In a closely fought match, Governor Livingston beat Oratory Prep 2-1 away at Cavelero Field in Summit.

A superb chip over the goalie by sophomore Alessio Marisi late in the first half gave the Highlanders the lead, but Oratory leveled the score midway through the second half after converting a penalty kick. Another sophomore Rafe Barnum restored GL's lead with a powerful header off an Ethan Proper corner. Despite some late pressure from the Oratory Rams, the Highlanders held on to record their second win of the young season.

The boys put their 2-0 record on the line at home to Plainfield on Saturday, 12.30 p.m. kickoff.
