BASKING RIDGE, NJ – The Fellowship Foundation is hosting its inaugural Fellowship Charity Golf Outing on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the nationally recognized Somerset Hills Country Club in Bernardsville. Known for its rich history, the golf course is consistently rated one of the top 100 courses in the country. The Fellowship Foundation raises funds to enhance programs and services and upgrade and expand the physical capabilities and campuses for Fellowship Senior Living.

Honorary Chair, Robert Mulcahy, best known for his tenure as the Athletic Director of Rutgers University, also served as the President and CEO of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority for 19 years. Fellowship Charity Golf Outing attendees will also receive a ticket to “A Conversation with Bob Mulcahy,” a one-on-one interview with Keith Sargeant, Sports Analyst and Writer, to take place at the Fellowship Cultural Arts Center in Basking Ridge or virtually if necessary, at a later date.

Golfers and sponsors are being sought to support the event. “We have already had substantial interest in our first golf outing, as we look to raise funds to provide additional outdoor recreational activities on our 72-acre campus at Fellowship Village to benefit our residents,” said Brian Lawrence, President & CEO, Fellowship Senior Living. “Our residents enjoy a vibrant, active and engaging lifestyle. Proceeds from the outing will support projects which enhance outdoor amenities and will provide additional opportunities for our residents to socialize and improve their overall health and wellness.”

About Somerset Hills Country Club: Somerset Hills Country Club has a rich history that began over 100 years ago. The club was formed in 1899 for social and recreational purposes. The founders were primarily New York City residents and, thus, the use of “country” in the name of their Club. The Club was originally situated along the Raritan River, partly in Bernards and partly in Bedminster Township. In 1918, the Club changed locations and the Club was built at its current site. The golf course was designed by A.W Tillinghast and is consistently rated one of the top 100 courses in the country. For one hundred years, tennis “whites” have graced the grass courts of Somerset Hills. Although Somerset Hills has proudly hosted several national and international events, it has remained, first and foremost, a Club for members and their families.

In a rapidly changing technological world, we hope to pass on to future generations the traditions of simple elegance that are Somerset Hills Country Club.
