LINCROFT, NJ - The GL Varsity Boys Cross Country Team placed second at the State Sectionals at Thompson Park on Saturday.

The team scored a total of 116 points, and averaged a time of 17:21.  They were second to powerhouse Vorhees High School at 66 points.  Overtook Point Pleasant Boro placed third with 136 points; Holmdel, fourth with 140 points; and Metuchen, fifth with 153 points.

"The success of the team comes from their pack running style," said Gov. Livingston Coach Lisa Dhaibar. This second place finish qualifies them for Groups at Holmdel Park on Saturday, November 16.

Senior Victoria Vanriele placed 8th for the girls in 19:33.5 to advance as an individual to Groups.
