Indoor Track and Field: Victoria Vanriele Captures NJSIAA Group 2 Title; Gov. Livingston Advances to MOC in 4 Events

TOMS RIVER, NJ - Gov. Livingston's Victoria Vanriele captured the NJSIAA Group 2 title in the 800 M in 2:12.32, more than three seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. She broke her own Group 2 record set in last year's event. 

Three individual Gov. Livingston track and field athletes and one relay team qualified for the NJSIAA Meet of Champions at the Group 2 Championships, held at the Bennett Indoor Track Center in Toms River on Friday evening, 

Qualifying for the Meet of Champions with top six finishes were:

  • Victoria Vanriele placed first in the 800m in 2:12.32
  • Lauren Saifi placing third in the pole vault with a vault of 11-6.00
  • The girls 4x400 meter relay team of Sophie Cresitello, Caitlin Colendenski, Katie Quinn, and Victoria Vanriele, took fifth place in a time of 4:08.72
  • Doug Ladzinski placed sixth in the 55m hurdles in 7.87

The Meet of Champions will be held at the Bennett Center in Toms River next weekend.  The girls events will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, and the boys events will be held on Sunday, Feb. 25.
