BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The 2020-21 members of the Junior Board of the Overlook Foundation are hosting a panel discussion on Teen Mental Health in Our Community in support of Pediatric Mental Health at Overlook on Thursday, April 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Griffin Faecher, a junior at Pingry, and Jadyn Riggi, a junior at Gov. Livingston High School, both from Berkeley Heights, are part of the 15 student Junior Board of the Overlook Foundation representing high schools from the surrounding area.

These students are learning firsthand about philanthropy in the healthcare arena. They have been charged with selecting a meaningful target for their fundraising campaign, and this year, the Junior board has chosen to develop a private area in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Overlook Hospital, specifically for children and teens displaying symptoms of mental illness.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has put children and teens at risk, forcing them to endure increasingly stressful situations at home, at school, and with family and friends. We felt it was of the utmost importance that we give aid and support to any and all children who are suffering this unprecedented physical, social, and emotional shift," said Faecher and Riggi in a joint statement.

The students will be hosting the informative virtual panel of esteemed doctors who will discuss high priority issues that children currently face. Join them next Thursday evening by registering to listen and learn from their panel of doctors.

"Donations are not required to attend, but of course, any contribution to this meaningful effort is greatly appreciated," said Faecher and Riggi.
