Seventeen Realtors from the offices of Keller Williams convened on Thursday at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ), where 341 boxes of non-perishables were packaged on an assembly line in less than two hours.

Nicesse Gilford from the Hillside-based warehouse noted those numbers were impressive.  “We usually finish 300 boxes with about 30 volunteers in the same time frame.”

Among the fast movers of foodstuffs, were co-workers and fellow Mountainsiders, Stefanie Zecca, Lucy Thompson, and myself (Linda Condrillo).

The sales associates and staff were celebrating “RED Day,” (an acronym for Renew, Energize and Donate), the company’s initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams' year-round commitment to improving our local communities.  Celebrated each May, agents and associates are encouraged to spend the day away from their businesses to serve worthy organizations and causes.

Any day is a great day to spend some time at CFBNJ!  If you are looking for a meaningful volunteer experience in a positive and safe environment, perfect for individuals, families and groups of almost any size, log on to or call them at 908 355-3663 and ask for Volunteer Services.

And Over Here is the Dining Hall 2

My very first job in admissions was while I was still an undergraduate myself as a tour guide.  Very early on they indoctrinated us with some tricks of the trade.  It’s a dining hall, not a cafeteria.  A residence hall, not a dorm.  If you have to divulge some negative bit of information, sandwich it between two positives.  There were instructions for glossing over ...

The Union County Freeholders’ decision to appoint State Senator and newly-elected Union County Democratic Chairman, Nick Scutari’s chief of staff, Ed Oatman as County Manager smelled of corruption from the start.
