Plainfield Man Charged on Numerous Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop in Mountainside

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ - On January 21, 2017 at approximately 1649 hours Cpl. Jeff Stinner observed a motor vehicle traveling Route 22 West that had an expired registration. Upon effecting a motor vehicle stop and approaching the driver, identified as Keyone Kelly- Richardson of Plainfield, he immediately detected a strong odor of raw marijuana. Further investigation would discover that Mr. Kelly- Richardson would be in possession of more than two pounds of marijuana packaged in 16 separate bags. Mr. Kelly-Richardson was also found to be in possession of various packaging materials used to break the narcotic down into consumer quantities as well as three scales also used for this purpose.

Mr. Kelly- Richardson was arrested and charged with Possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, Possession of drug paraphernalia and various motor vehicle violations. In accordance with the new and current bail reform practices Mr. Kelly- Richardson was released on his own recognizance and served with a summons.
