MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ – Special Education will be the beneficiary of the additional state aid received by the School District.

Members of the Mountainside Board of Education voted to use the $150,160 additional state aid to help fund special education at its Tuesday, July 24, meeting.

The state had already crafted its budget with the original state aid figure provided in March – $613,011. When the new figure came out in July, state aid had gone up by $150,160 to $763,171, an increase of 33.99 percent from the $569,584 in state aid provided to the district in the 2017-2018 school year.

The district was notified by the New Jersey Department of Education of additional funding earlier this month.
