SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Local students participating in the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) had an opportunity to learn from successful business people Thursday at a CEO roundtable.
TAP into Westfield Owner Jackie Lieberman and CEOs James Ward of James Ward Mansion, Nirupama Mallavarupu of MobileArq and Ron Shovlin of Shovlin Mattress Factory told their stories and fielded questions from the middle and high school students.
“I think we were all impressed by the students in this program,” Lieberman said. “They were really engaged and asked some fantastic questions. I’m looking forward to watching their businesses take off."
YEA! is a program that helps local middle and high school students become real entrepreneurs. Students generate business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, pitch to a panel of investors and launch real companies.
