WESTFIELD, NJ – The Westfield Memorial Library is excited to host a presentation of “The Tempest” by William Shakespeare on Wednesday, June 6 at 7 p.m. It will also host three sessions of Zumba Gold for Adults on June 6, 13 and 20 at 10 a.m. The library is located at 550 East Broad St.

The Tempest will be presented by the Hudson Shakespeare Company. It tells the story of Prospero, a displaced noble, who lives on a wild and beautiful island and is the magical master of all he surveys. He can summon up storms but has no power over his precocious teenage daughter Miranda, who yearns to know of the outside world.

Prospero commands a storm to wreak havoc on some of his enemies to settle an old debt, while giving his daughter the future she craves. Wizards, pirates, and monsters collide in this comedic Shakespeare romp through an enchanted Caribbean island, as ancient scores of revenge are settled.
