NEW YORK, NY — C.J. Reycraft, Jr., chef and owner of the French brasserie Amuse in Westfield, appeared live on Good Day New York on Fox 5 Monday morning.

Reycraft chatted with hosts Rosanna Scotto and Greg Kelly about his recent award, “Leading Chef of the Future,” by the Academy of Gastronomy and taught the audience how to make seared sea scallops with avocado-cucumber salad.
It was an appearance that almost didn’t happen. Due to traffic, Reycraft said he feared he might not make it to the studio in time.
Arriving with just a few minutes to spare, the chef didn’t have much time to get nervous. After a quick and fascinating look backstage, he said, he was on the air.
“It felt really good to be up there,” he said. “They made me feel really comfortable and relaxed. It was so much fun.”
Reycraft won’t have much time to rest now that the show’s over. On Tuesday, he’s judging a kids healthy cooking competition in Elizabeth, and Wednesday night he’ll host a wine tasting dinner at Amuse with Westfield wine shop CoolVines featuring five courses paired with wines from Iconic Wines.
