NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - New Providence School District posted the following notice on their website regarding early dismissal for all schools on Friday, March 13, 2020 and schools will be closed starting Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice.
In collaboration with the Board of Education, Mayor, and Borough Council, the district is implementing it’s Pandemic Preparedness Plan and closing procedures as a result of the coronavirus.
The closing procedures are as follows:
There will be an early dismissal for all schools tomorrow, Friday, March 13, 2020. This is Day 1. All HS/MS students will be dismissed at 12:15 and all elementary students will be dismissed at 12:30. Please note that lunch is not served on early dismissal days. Also, all after-school activities and events including outside groups are canceled.
All students are required to bring home all materials and personal belongings over the next 2 days.
The buildings will remain open until 8pm tomorrow, Friday, March 13, 2020 to allow for families to pick up any forgotten items.
Kindergarten parents please listen: AM and PM Kindergarten students will follow their early dismissal schedule.
Pre- K parents please listen: AM Pre-K students will report to school at their regular time. PM Pre-K students will not report to school, but have the opportunity to enter the building between 12:30pm and 8pm in order to collect belongings.
All Union County Vocational Technical School students will follow their regular busing schedule.
Starting on Monday, March 16, 2020, all schools will be closed for students until further notice. Only staff will have access to the buildings on Monday to gather materials. All Union County Vocational Technical Schools busing is cancelled. This is Day 2.
