WESTFIELD, NJ – China and Latin America are not exactly close to each other, but a restaurant here has brought flavors from the two continents together.
Innovasian Taco, prominently located at the corner of Central Avenue and Quimby Street, is open for fast and casual dining.
“We offer innovative Latin and Asian bites,” said Aldo Ortega, manager of the restaurant. “It’s a combination of Latin flavors and Asian flavors.”
The restaurant offers “create your own” options for $8 with a combination of a base, protein, up to three toppings and choice of sauces, including Peruvian queso sauce, spicy cilantro verde, teriyaki and pineapple chimichiurri.
Burgers made with arepas come with a chose of house waffle fries or plantains. Sides on offer include empanadas, buffalo chicken nachos and Peruvian salchipapa cheese fries.
Diners are also offered milkshakes, including those flavored with a variety of sugary cereals. The hungry diner can also partake of the pastry known as churros.
A grand opening is set for Friday, June 21, at a time to be determined, Ortego said.
