May 20, 2022SUMMIT, NJ - One person has died, and another victim was flown by Medevac helicopter to an area trauma center after a mid-afternoon crash on Eastbound Route 24 near Milemarker 9, according to the City of Summit Fire Department (SFD).
The SFD, at approximately 2 p.m. today, responded to a report of a multiple vehicle accident on Route 24 East near Milemarker 9.
SUMMIT, NJ - The City of Summit Police Department (SPD) has notified residents that Eastbound Route 24 is closed "for the next several hours" due to a major accident that involved a tractor trailer and an unknown number of vehicles which occurred just after 2 p.m. at Milemarker 9.

SUMMIT, NJ - The tense afternoon situation that involved a woman barricading herself inside a Meadowbrook Court residence with a firearm today has been resolved safely.
A Summit Police Department Nixle Alert at 3:53 p.m. stated, "Situation on Meadowbrook Court is now resolved. Victim is being transported to hospital. No injuries."

SUMMIT, NJ - An "emotionally disturbed adult" has barricaded themselves in a residence on Meadowbrook Court in Summit.
