One Hospitalized, Traffic Tied up After Serious Crash on Route 22 West in Mountainside

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ – Another bad accident sent one person to the hospital and tied up traffic on Route 22 today.

Three Drivers Injured in Crash that Closed Route 22 in Mountainside

 

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ – Three drivers were injured in a crash on Route 22, according to a release from Mountainside Police Department’s Officer in Charge Lt. Joseph Giannuzzi.

He gave the following account of the accident, which happened at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, in the area of Route 22 East and the intersection of Lawrence Avenue.

UPDATE: Eastbound Route 22 Continues to be Closed Following Multiple Vehicle Accident in Mountainside

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ — Union County has posted an alert on its website that eastbound Route 22 "could be closed up to as late as 7:00 p.m. this evening. Major motor vehicle accident with large diesel and hydraulic oil spill to be cleaned by Haz Mat."

Chlorine Drum Rupture Shuts Down Nomahegan Swim Club in Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ - A ruptured chlorine drum has forced closure of Nomahegan Swim Club on Springfield Avenue Friday afternoon.

According to a Westfield police officer on the scene, a 1,000-gallon drum of chlorine ruptured.
