NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ -- A Bloomfield man was killed in a one-car crash on Union Avenue early Sunday morning.
According to police, the crash happened at 12:06 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 8, about 50-feet south of Hilary Place. The preliminary investigation indicates the car, a 2012 Nissan Altima, was being driven northbound on Union Avenue. It crossed the railroad crossing, just north of Rose Avenue, when the driver lost control, and the car came to final rest on the lawn of a residence near the intersection of Hilary Place.
The driver, Judah Ibeh-Bartley, 20, of Bloomfield was the only person in the vehicle, police reported. The investigation was conducted by the New Providence Police Department and the Union County Fatal Accident Unit.
A phone call from a resident in the area who heard the crash alerted police to the event. At this time no eyewitnesses have been found.
