ROSELLE PARK, NJ - Mountainside firefighters were among those who responded to a call on the 100 Block of Butler Ave. at approximately 8 p.m. Monday evening. 

According to the Breaking News Network (BNN), firemen reported finding heavy smoke showing from the basement of a 2.5 story wood frame home up arrival. An engine from Kenilworth was called to the scene for assistance.

As the fire continued to spread, additional units from Scotch Plains, Mountainside, Garwood, and Union County EMS were also called to the scene.

According to the resident of the home, no one was home at the time the fire broke out. No injuries were reported. 

According to BNN firemen had the fire under control and extinguished by approximately 10:22 p.m. It was unknown at the time what started the fire and it was still under investigation.
