BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Governor Livingston girls basketball defeated Kent Place 53-20 at home on Tuesday, January 28 to get back to .500 on the season. Senior guard Paige Phillps drained four 3's totaling 14 points in the win.

Governor Livingston came out hot from the start, obtaining a 14-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. They did not step off the acceleration in the second quarter, as they extended their lead to 33-7 at the break.

Coming out of half, the Highlanders continued to pressure Kent Place on defense leading to numerous points pushing the lead to 45-9 at the end of the third quarter.  Senior guard Skylar Dowling had 9 points in the game while 9 Highlanders were able to get in the scoring column.

Governor Livingston was back in action Thursday in Elizabeth (12-4) against the Minutemen. With the 42-30 victory, GL has a share of the UCC-Valley division title with their counterparts. 

Gianna Ciccimarra led in scoring with 16 points, Phillips added 10 and Dowling finished with 9 points in the win. 

The seniors will be celebrated prior to Tuesday's game against Linden that tips off at 5:30 p.m. in the Red Gym at Gov. Livingston High School.
