Most people have a different taste in holiday music. Some love the smooth tone of Frank Sinatra and some like the instrumental flow of Trans Siberian Orchestra. All holiday songs have a purpose, which is to spread Christmas cheer around loved ones during the holiday season.
Freshman Hayden Osborn is a big fan of Kelly Clarkson’s “Underneath the Christmas Tree.” “It always puts me in the Christmas spirit.” The song is a recent gem for lots of Christmas lovers. It is not an old classic but it can become one of the best holiday songs in the future.
Sophomore Michael Tomich loves songs like “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. Tomich simply said, “The song is a bop.” He can’t wait to play it to feel the festive cheer. “It fires me up for the holidays, and it gets me flowing.” The song does its job of putting a smile on everyone’s face during the holidays.
Senior Daniel Sternberg is a big fan of Christmas music. He loves the soft jazz of Frank Sinatra singing Jingle Bells. His favorite song is “Carol of the Bells,” covered by the Trans Siberian Orchestra. “When I hear the song, I get excited for the new year, and I obviously love the bells in the song.” It gives a touch of heavy metal but also the soft elegance of bells throughout the song.
There is always an argument about which Christmas song will cause the most smiles. It may be the lovely Kelly Clarkson or Mariah Carey which can have a huge impact during the Christmas season. It could also be the strength of the Trans Siberian Orchestra that lift people’s Christmas spirit. Either way, all Christmas songs can have an impact on people’s lives, but the arguing will still go on. Which Christmas song is the best of all time?
