PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers Police announced Friday afternoon that a stabbing took place at the Rutgers Business School and a suspect is in custody.
The school is located at 100 Rockefeller Road in Piscataway.
Rutgers police were called to the Business Building around 2:30 p.m. for a report of a stabbing, according to an alert by the department.
Officers found three victims, one in critical condition with stab wounds, according to early reports.
After evacuating the area, police announced that they have a suspect in custody and that the area has been determined to be safe.
In a statement from the university at 4 p.m., Spokesman E.J. Miranda said that the suspect was one of the victims in the incident and that there is no danger to the community.
A professor in the building said that the facility was in lockdown for 75 minutes, but classes have since resumed.
According to him, the incident took place on the fifth floor of the building.
