EDISON, NJ – The Menlo Park Mall has a new general manager, according to its owner.

The Simon retail real estate company, which owns the mall, recently appointed Paul Crociata to the position of general manager, according to a press release Wednesday.

According to the release, Crociata has some 30-plus years in asset management and retail real estate expertise to oversee the operations, local leasing, security, marketing and budget functions of the popular shopping center.

The company is also hoping Crociata will lead a team to “enhance” the shopping experience, according to the release.

He is a Plainview, New York native and a longtime Ramsey resident, and has been with Simon for more than 15 years, the release said.

According to the release, he most recently served as general manager at Rockaway Townsquare and previously served in the same capacity at Livingston Mall and the Brunswick Square Mall, where he oversaw two major renovations to the property.

Crociata started as a VP Store Manager for Macy’s where he oversaw locations in Staten Island, Queens and Nanuet, New York, according to the release.

“We are pleased to welcome Paul into this new position at Menlo Park Mall,” Robert T. Guerra, regional vice president for Simon’s Northeast region said. “I look forward to the contributions he will make in his new role to further the success at this world class premier property.”

In addition to his professional success, Crociata held the positions of President and Field Lieutenant during his time as a former NJ E.M.T. for the Ramsey Volunteer Ambulance Corp., the release said.

The company said he was also involved in several business organizations and a number of community task force committees while at the Livingston and Brunswick Square malls.

“I am excited for this new opportunity to lead the management team at Menlo Park Mall, one of the premier shopping centers in New Jersey,” Crociata said.  “I look forward to building on the past success the property has already achieved.”

Menlo Park Mall is located on Route 1 South and Parsonage Road in Edison and is managed by Simon, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The two-level, regional mall features Nordstrom, Macy’s, Barnes & Noble, The Cheesecake Factory and Havana Central and 175 specialty stores, according to the company.
