Rutgers Gardens has a vibrant volunteer community.  Volunteers are essential to help maintain the grounds, educate the public, interact with visitors, grow plants for sale, and assist with special events. We welcome volunteers in many different aspects of our day-to-day operations and programming. No matter what your particular interests—or even if you’d like to learn some new skills—there are many ways to get involved.

Stress Factory Presents Nikki Glaser 7:30 pm

Where: Stress Factory Comedy Club

Nikki Glaser was recently seen as the creator, executive producer, and star of the popular Comedy Central series Not Safe w/ Nikki Glaser. The show featured some of comedy’s funniest voices as they joke, learn, and share their personal stories about sex, relationships, and other taboo topics. The series premiered in February 2016 and was also Comedy Central’s first series to be introduced and developed across multiple social platforms.

Cook Farmer’s Market 11-5pm

This week Produce Pete will be here to help us celebrate Jersey fresh tomatoes! Come out to meet Produce Pete who will be here to answer all of your produce questions.

Rutgers Gardens Cook’s Market provides a well-managed and organized farm market for both the local farmer/producer and patron. Our aim is to encourage the development of local agricultural and specialty products, as well as promote local economic development and community building through educational and family-friendly activities.

Since 2008, the Farmers Market has promoted land stewardship by practicing sustainable growing practices and providing the community nutritious, quality food. The market has been held every Friday from May through December. More than 25 vendors with local produce, meats, flowers, prepared foods, cheeses, wines and more. People gather to wander around, chat with vendors and friends, and fill their bags with locally produced foods.
