EDISON, NJ – A two-alarm fire severely damaged a township home on Friday afternoon, displacing the occupants, officials said.

According to officials, firefighters from two different departments went to 18 Brookfall Rd. at 3:50 p.m. on a report of a fire in the spilt ranch-style home.

Crews found visible smoke and fire coming from an upstairs bedroom in the home, officials said.

Firefighters took 20 minutes to bring the fire under control, restricting the main damage to the room.

Officials said the room suffered heavy fire damage while the rest of the home suffered heavy smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported, and police are investigating the cause of the fire, officials said.
