PISCATAWAY, NJ - The ambitious overhaul of Rutgers University’s athletics facilities is moving full steam ahead, and now you can get a front row seat to see it unfold.
Rutgers Athletics now has a live-cam to broadcast the construction of the RWJBarnabas Health Athletic Performance Center, according to a Feb. 12 announcement.
“Fans can watch via the live construction camera as this best-in-class facility comes to life before their eyes,” reads the statement.
The RWJ Barnabas Health Athletic Performance Center will be nestled in between the Rutgers Athletic Center and Rutgers Business School, both on Livingston Campus in Piscataway.
Once completed in July 2019, the 295,000-square-foot, four-story sports facility and parking deck will service the wrestling and gymnastic programs and the men’s and women’s basketball teams.
RWJBarnabas paid $18 million towards the center’s construction and the Rutgers sports medicine program.
In the works, nearby on Busch Campus, is the Gary Barbara Rodkin Center Academic Success, named after the two prominent alumni donors of the same names, who recently contributed $15 million to Rutgers.

Once completed, the new site will house the academic support services for student athletes, the athletic administrative offices and the training facilities for the men’s and women’s lacrosse and soccer teams.
The center will be built between Yurak field and the High Point Solutions Stadium, both on Busch Campus in Piscataway.
