NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A man affiliated with Rutgers University was robbed early this morning by four men who hit him and brandished a BB gun, according to a crime alert from the school’s police department.

The incident occurred at 12:15 a.m. today, June 22, on Senior Street between Sicard and Wyckoff streets, according to the alert.

The victim was walking toward his home when the men approached him with the BB gun, police said. They then “struck him with their fists before removing items of value,” cops said.

The suspects fled in a dark-colored sedan, according to the alert. Police said they don’t know which direction they went.

At this time, descriptions of the suspects are “limited,” cops noted.

The victim declined medical treatment at the scene, they said.
