NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday leaving one man wounded.
Authorities said the 22-year-old victim, a city resident, was shot about 6:40 p.m. on the 100 block of Throop Avenue.
Officers were responding to reports of gunshots at that location when they received information that a man had walked into Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital seeking treatment of a gunshot wound to his shoulder, police said.
The officers went to the hospital and spoke with the victim, who confirmed he was shot while exiting a store on Throop Avenue, said police Capt. J.T. Miller.
He said the victim refused to cooperate with detectives when asked for a description of the assailants.
The wounded man was treated for the non-life threatening wound, Miller said.
