Hindu Awareness Week - Kirtan Night at 8 p.m.

Where: Rutgers University 

Rutgers Hindu YUVA is hosting its first-ever Hindu Awareness Week from Feb. 17 to 21. Students are invited to enjoy the different aspects of Hindu culture through five events that are planned throughout the week. 

On Monday, Feb. 17, the YUVA will present “Kirtan Night” from 8 to 10 p.m. where individuals and groups will sing devotional bhajans and kirtans.

Tuesday, Feb. 18

New Brunswick Jazz Project from 8 to 11 p.m.

Where: George Street Ale House

The New Brunswick Jazz Project performs every Tuesday night at the 1749 Bar, with a new artist every week.

The show starts at 8 p.m. and the open jam session starts at 9:30 p.m.

 

Wednesday, Feb. 19

Rutgers Men’s Basketball Game at 7 p.m.

Where: Rutgers Athletic Center

Grab all the red gear you have and head on over to the Rutgers Athletic Center! The Scarlet Knights will be facing off against the University of Michigan Wolverines. Go, Knights!

New Talent Showcase at 7:30 p.m.

Where: The Stress Factory Comedy Club

Think you're funny? Come prove it at the Stress Factory’s ‘New Talent Showcase’ where amateurs come out to try out some stage time and some material.

You never know who is going to stop in and step on the stage as pros tend to stop in from time to time. Everyone gets three minutes of stage time.

Thursday, Feb. 20

Kobe Bryant Paint and Sip Tribute at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Above Art Studios 

Above Art Studios on Morris Street is celebrating the life and legacy of one of the greatest athletes of all time and you’re invited!

Come paint your own Kobe masterpiece with the guided instruction of a master artist instructor. Bring your own wine, champagne, or beer and relax and enjoy some art therapy while listening to some tunes.

Friday, Feb. 21

Wellness Treats from 2 to 5 p.m.

Where: Cook Douglass Recreation Center

Have you been feeling a little stressed lately? Well, Rutgers Student Affairs has the perfect low-key event for you.

Stop by the Cook Douglass Recreation Center on Biel Road for free wellness treats. They will have chair massages, henna, threading and much more.

Damon Wayans Jr. Live! At 7:30 p.m.

Where: Stress Comedy Factory Club

Damon Kyle Wayans Jr. is an American actor, comedian and writer most widely known for starring as Brad Williams in the ABC sitcom, "Happy Endings" and he’s coming to New Brunswick!

Wayans was nominated for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2012 and as Coach in the Fox sitcom New Girl.

Doors open at 5:30 and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
