NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - An investigation is continuing into the accident that claimed the life of a 21-year-old Rutgers University student who was struck while riding her bike across Route 18 at George Street last week.
Chelsea Traynor, of Concord, California, was struck by a Ford pickup truck driven by Roger Hode, 40, of South River, who was headed north on Route 18 at the George Street intersection shortly after 11 a.m. on Dec. 9.
Traynor died of blunt force injury, according to the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office.
She was a sophomore studying nutritional sciences at the Rutger’s School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, according to the university’s Office of Media Relations.
No charges have been filed in the accident, which is being investigated by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
