NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the first collegiate football game today with the glee club, the drum corps and the rare ringing of the bells at Old Queens.
In the not-so-distant background is Greg Schiano, who is reportedly interviewing for the vacant head coaching position.
TAPinto New Brunswick asked Athletic Director Pat Hobbs about Schiano and he said, "He's a great coach."
When asked where the school is in terms of hiring a coach to take over for interim head coach Nunzio Campanile, Hobbs said, "We are going through the process."
When asked about a timeline, Hobbs said "We're following our process."
Schiano led Rutgers to unrivaled success in the past several decades. Between 2005 and '11, the Scarlet Knights went to six bowl games and compiled a 56-33 record under Schiano.
Head coach Chris Ash was fired the day after a 52-0 loss to Michigan earlier this year.
