NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A man connected to Rutgers University was assaulted and robbed early this morning in an off-campus neighborhood, according to police.
The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. today, May 9, on Delafield Street, between Bristol and Courtland streets, according to an alert from the Rutgers University Police Department. That’s just two blocks from the stretch of Easton Avenue near Knight Club and Boylan Funeral Home, an area bustling with college students.
The Rutgers affiliate chatted with the alleged male perpetrator, who then struck him, “took items of value” and bolted from the scene, according to police.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said. He declined medical treatment at the scene.
Cops said the description of the suspect “is limited at this time.”
