BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset Patriots would like to congratulate its partners at the Somerset County Library System (SCLS) for receiving a Public Relations Campaign Award from the New Jersey Library Association for its "Summer Reading Challenge with the Somerset Patriots.”
Through the partnership, the SCLS experienced a nearly 20 percent increase in total participation from 2017 to 2018, and thousands of kids in the local community were able to experience a Somerset Patriots game as a reward for reading.
“We’d like to thank the SCLS for a great partnership that encouraged kids to read last summer,” said Somerset Patriots President/ General Manager Patrick McVerry. “Literacy and education programs are always very high on our list of community initiatives. To see the program’s success and the recognition it is receiving only motivates us to make it an even bigger success in 2019.”
The award was given May 30 at the New Jersey Library Association's Annual Conference in Atlantic City. Somerset Patriots Director of Marketing Hal Hansen was in attendance to represent the team at the event. MyCentralJersey.Com also partnered with the Somerset Patriots and the SCLS in the program.
The New Jersey Library Association gave out just four PR Awards to libraries throughout the entire state.
