NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A South Brunswick has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in an alleged shooting that took place on Saturday, July 11.
Jahmil Alvarez, 19, of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, was charged Sunday night with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, according to a press release from Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Raymond J. Hayducka of the South Brunswick Police Department.
The South Brunswick Police responded to the alleged shooting which took place in the vicinity of the Royal Oaks Apartments, located at 200 Henderson Road on Saturday at about 3:59 p.m., police said.
An 18-year-old Monmouth Junction man was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and was treated for gunshot wounds.
