EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - On Saturday, June 29, CKO Kickboxing of East Brunswick took part in a push-up challenge to support "Jar of Hope."  625 push-ups earned a local charity $625.

The fundraiser consisted of members performing 10 push ups for $10 which was led by Jar of Hope founder, James Raffone.  Jar of Hope's mission is dedicated to bringing awareness and raising funds directed to ongoing research in the hope of eliminating Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which James' son, Jamesy, was diagnosed with in 2013 at the age of 7.

DMD is a rare mutation of the dystrophin gene that results in severe muscle degeneration and affects about 300,000 boys worldwide, with approximately 20,000 cases in the United States.  There is, at this time, no cure for DMD.
