Unitex Textile Rental Services, the fastest growing healthcare laundry company in the United States, will mark the Grand Opening of its newest facility at 10 Van Dyke Ave New Brunswick, NJ later this month. Unitex’s expansion in New Brunswick will help benefit the community’s job market, and promote green technology in the healthcare sector.
Unitex will employ approximately 300 local workers once the new plant is fully operational. As health and wellness become a growing industry sector in Middlesex County, Unitex is hoping to help lower the unemployment rate within New Brunswick and surrounding areas.
"We are ecstatic to open our newest facility in New Brunswick,” said David Potack, Vice President of Unitex. “Our expansion helps the increase in employment of the local community, which is truly important to our company. Plus, our technological environmental improvements always help reinforce our commitment to our communities.”
Unitex is also on the forefront of green technology. Certified by the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC), Unitex is proud to continually improve in innovation and technology, efficient energy usage and more. Unitex has resourcefully designed and operated its laundry processing facilities and warehouses throughout the Northeast by reducing water, chemical, natural gas and electric usage and cost. Their laundry facilities are able to process 200 million lbs. of laundry annually using only .85 gallons of water per lb. on average, compared to 2.8 gallons per lb. in an average household washer. Along with the water consumption Unitex uses 1,300 BTU’s/lb. which is 44% less than the industry norm.
