NEW BRUNSWICK - The New Brunswick Free Public Library has been selected as one of 20 public libraries to receive a $10,000 grant to fund a English for Beginners class.
More than 80 participants have registered for the classes being funded with the grant from the American Library Association and Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
Classes for the six-week program will begin and the city library says volunteers are needed.
People interested in participating in the 18-hour volunteer training program to learn how to provide support to beginning adult English language learners should plan to attend an information session on May 21 from 6-7 p.m. to learn more details and apply.
English for Beginners classes will begin June 4 and continue through July 14. Flexible scheduling options are available. Interested persons should contact Jessica Hunsdon by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone or send a text message to (732) 659-4359.
The American Dream Literacy Initiative is made possible through the generous support of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. For more information about this program, contact Kavita Pandey at (732) 745-5108, ext. 20 or email@example.com or visit www.nbfpl.org.
