NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – The school district will be providing meals to students two times a week during the extended shutdown.

Starting Tuesday, March 17, the district will provide multiple breakfast and lunch meals for students to last through Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

On Friday, the school district will distribute breakfast and lunch meals for students to last for that Friday and the following Monday.

These meals will be provided twice a week from 10 a.m. to noon at the following locations:

  • Archibald Park (located by McKinley Community School)
  • Kossuth Park (located near Lincoln Elementary School)
  • Murphy Park (located by Woodrow Wilson Elementary School)
  • Feaster Park (located by Paul Robeson Community School for the Arts)

Superintendent of Schools Aubrey Johnson announced last week that schools would close in reaction to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

Initially, schools were to remain closed through March 20, and students would do classwork remotely.

Gov. Phil Murphy announced on Monday that schools statewide would be shuttered indefinitely. The shutdown starts Wednesday.
