NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - An addition 70 New Brunswick residents have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to 903.

According to Middlesex County health officials, the death toll in the city is up to 34.

County officials began releasing information about COVID-19 deaths by municipality on Wednesday.

There have been a total of 9,462 positive COVID-19 cases in the county.

County-wide, New Brunswick trails Perth Amboy (1,310), Woodbridge (1,203) and Edison (1,058) in the list for most positive cases.

There have been 381 deaths in Middlesex County. New Brunswick has the fifth-highest total, trailing Perth Amboy (56), Monroe (50), Woodbridge (38) and Edison (35).

According to state statistics, Middlesex County ranks sixth in the state in positive cases. It trails Bergen (14,049), Hudson (12,645), Essex (11,811), Union (10,935) and Passaic (9,874).

In Middlesex County, 39 long-term care facilities have reported outbreaks with 1,145 COVID-19 positive cases and 260 deaths.
