NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Someone was hit with a blunt object and robbed near the intersection of Easton Avenue and Hamilton Street on Saturday night, according to a statement issued by Rutgers police.

According to the statement, the New Brunswick Police Department is investigating the incident that occurred at about 8:50 p.m.

The victim had "an item of value" taken during the incident, according to the statement.

The report does not specify if the victim was was a man or woman, but stated that the person was not seriously injured.

According to the statement, a description of the alleged perpetrator is "limited."
