HIGHLAND PARK, NJ - Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Richard Abrams of the Highland Park Police Department announced today they have begun an investigation into the assault of a woman in Highland Park.

On August 24 at approximately 9:10 p.m., the victim contacted Highland Park Police Department to report that she was assaulted in the area of Benner Street and Second Avenue a short time prior.

The suspect shoved her to the ground and held her down before fleeing the area.

The suspect is described as a black male, with black hair, approximately 6 feet tall, approximately 25 years of age, wearing a blue surgical mask and eyeglasses.

The investigation is active and continuing. Police are seeking information from anyone in the area who may have observed the suspect or possesses video relevant to the investigation.
